Re: Michaels clothes on auction
There are a lot of people that were close to Michael that all say that the occasional International professional auctions (like Julien's) are sanctioned and endorsed by the family and the MJ Estate, furthermore it is known that there are many exact duplicates made of all the costumes and in no way would the entire collection ever be completely auctioned off. There were up to a dozen of each piece - and many times even more made for Michael for many reasons. One being that he would vary in weight and as a perfectionist all costumes had to be exactly to MJ's specifications in fit and in several colors ie: for the Bad World Tour.
I have to check this November auction for where the proceeds are going but it is stipulated that all sales of anything sanctioned has a mandatory 20% off the top donated directly to charity. There are many that win the pieces at Julien's and other auctions that tour the MJ piece/s they win and donate the tour proceeds to charity. Others have displayed the pieces they win in very pro MJ venues for many fans to enjoy that may never have a chance to see these precious items MJ had made for him to wear.
I think that as long as this is a fact that there is no way there would ever be a total sell off of MJ's iconic costumes etc.. and that the MJ3 have what they want to keep personally that there is nothing wrong with this auction.
I have more of a problem with people who make (fake) MJ items and sell all over the internet purely for the purpose of lining their own pockets with not one penny ever going to charity. This is blasphemy to me and a greedy taking advantage of Michael's loving fans. I would be happy to support going after these thieves (I say this because it rips off the MJ3 and fans) with a campaign to stop them! It is afterall against the law to do that-against MJ copyrights, intellectual property rights and trademarks. They all are breaking the law selling their homemade MJ merch.

@Capricious Anomaly
First - very nice avatar!!
I definately understand what you mean and I believe there are several copies of each item to. But since that´s nothing we actually know for sure we decided to do this. They say on Juliens page that "A portion of the proceeds of the auction will benefit two charities, Guide Dogs of America (GuideDogsofAmerica.org) and Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas ([You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] But they do not say how many %.
Of course every fan do just as they wish, but we just felt we wanted to stop this since one auction might lead to one more..etc....

Karen Faye tweets:
"Karen Faye (@wingheart)
It makes me very sad that Michael Bush has decided to auction off MJ's iconic clothing. Both MLB and I know that it was MJ's wish to create a museum for these pieces. MJ spoke about this often to us. That is why MJ trusted MLB to hold on to these items."
"Karen Faye (@wingheart)
All you can do is make a personal choice, not purchase it. If everyone made this choice, they would not be selling it. Fans are making these men very wealthy. I am not. RT @freeminder66: @wingheart So, there is no way to stop it? And it all will happen again and again? How many tragedies do we know already? "

Re: Michaels clothes on auction
@CantStopLovinMJ: Thanks-I love horses and this avatar was a gift given to me here-I love it too! On the auction, I understand your feelings on this, just that it is not anywhere near close to the best MJ wore and had made for the shows that is being auctioned, I hope that actually helps you to know that and relieves your worries.
Karen Faye lost any respect many millions of fans ever had for her when she threw MJ under the bus after he passed. I am sorry to say this everyone - but her tweets regarding MJ are usually attention seeking IMO and to keep herself relevant. Look at her wording in her tweets. If she cared so much about these things-then why when the global fanbase MJ has were devastated by the news of his passing - did she side with AEG and say the terrible things she said which were blatantly untrue and proven not true at autopsy. Why did she not intervene and assist Michael if what she said on television in interview and in print about his state of health? Sorry but I can't go along with anything she has to say now period. I am still so disgusted by her antics still to this day.
@MayMJ: Thanks for the link for the museum-I'll check it out
(oh-the other FB auction link doesn't work - I tried it a couple times).

As for Karen Faye, I agree 100 % with you. I don't trust her since her "This is NOT it" things.
If I copied her tweet, that’s because I wanted to show the idea of Michael exposing his clothes in a museum. It seems that Frank Cascio also wrote about Michael’s wish for a museum in his book.

Re: Michaels clothes on auction
@CSLMJ: Have a great time! Post pix if you can OK? Please don't be disappointed - Juliens is sanctioned by many close to MJ's Estate and the Estate and will take place-just know that there are many many more MJ costumes that will always be with the Jackson Family-especially the most stage worn - from what I have read and posted over the years. I don't have all the articles and info available easily-would need to search a massive archive for it-if I find some of the pieces I will post

The OP changed the topic here to be a convo about the auction and to say she will attend the T & B exhibit tomorrow-
There is already a thread in "MJ Special Events & Commemorations" posted weeks ago specifically about the London exhibit.
