Behind the scenes at Michael Jackson’s 2007 Ebony photo shoot

Back in 2007, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Thriller, Michael Jackson granted an interview to Ebony for its December 2007 issue. It was quite a coup for Ebony—this would be Jackson’s first U.S. interview and magazine story in a decade.

Ebony chose Matthew Rolston to photograph the cover story, a shoot for which the King of Pop selected the Brooklyn Museum of Art as the setting. Jackson wanted to be photographed in a space “where art lives on forever,” recalls Ebony editor Harriet Cole in a recent interview with Dateline.

In the segment, Matthew also reflects on what is now a historic photo shoot. “Michael would perform a photograph as much as a song or a dance,” Matthew tells Dateline. “And with great joy, great style. Tremendous style.”

I don't know what it is with the Fanpop links, they take forever to appear when you click on. So I guess this beautiful set of shots will be on the list above :-) ? but we sure can view them again right? He's so gorgeous

@PureSoul: TY for reminding me - I meant to replace the fanpop-they are not the pix I want for this shoot. Actually we don't use fanpop at all on most of the site for obvious reasons

I have way better pix and will post those and replace these.
