The MJ's L.O.V.E. Is Magical Charity Thread

Time for us to come up with a charity to represent as a group in the great name and legacy of our KOP Michael Jackson!

We have been online with our forum now about 2 months and it is time to begin to organize for the charity/ies our members might be interested in starting to campaign for contributions. There will only be reputable organizations considered and there will be nobody on this site including the founder and admin, moderators or members collecting the contributions.

There will be a partnership set up with the charity organization so that the contributions made from anyone in Michael Jackson's name from this site will be recognized on a website (page) or similar device and the charity will be paid directly (with the info only provided here-not in anyway will there be a system on this site to give to the charity).

I will be checking into one that I have worked with before to see if they can partner with us this way and post results here.

The charity that I feel would be my personal choice for our members to line up with is:

I am especially fond of this and cast my vote for this organization as our charity because not only do they accept EVERYONE regardless of the parents ability to pay (or not to pay) they will treat children for FREE and not only that - they allow the entire family to stay at the hospital in wonderful surroundings while their little one (or teen) is hospitalized! They support the family too! They need all the contributions in this economy that they can possibly get!

That means we need a link page which would be on their site we can go to to contribute in the memory of MJ from the members of this site.

I am all for this and think it is a great thing for us to do as a team here too! I read a lot on the St. Jude's website and I am so impressed and I think this charity is a perfect one to give to in the name of MJ! I look forward to finding out more and when hopefully we can all partner with this charity!!

Side note: Tomorrow, Michael Jackson Fans of New York are giving our annual Toy drive, and then we are going to donate to NY Cares coat drive. New York Cares needs children's coats now more than ever especially since Huirricane Sandy left many families devasted and homeless. So with winter fast approaching coats are a necessicity.
