On October 27, 2003, the edited version of the single, 'What More Can I Give?', featuring a host of other artists, is released via the official Music for Giving website as a $2 download to support charity projects. The charities that received donations when 'What More Can I Give?' was purchased were "Oneness", "Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation" and "The International Child Art Foundation".

It was due to certain legal delays and misunderstandings that the charity anthem, (also previously devoted to the Kosovo victims and intended to be performed with late Luciano Pavarotti in 1999), was redirected – via Internet pay - to providing financial aid to the September 11, 2001 victims in New York.

Michael premiered the short film for 'What More Can I Give?' in the conference area at the Aladdin Hotel and Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The short film was first premiered to a small Clear Channel audience. Clear Channel is a collection of media and entertainment companies. Michael thanked the disc jockeys, producers, and radio in general and stated that he did not think that they get enough credit. He went on to say that they help artists get their music out and he wouldn’t be here without their support. During the video premiere, Michael sat on the floor and watched with the audience. He invited the children in the audience to sit with him.

Immediately following, Michael went next door where the short film premiered again for a larger audience of radio stations. Again, he sat on the floor for the premiere. He thanked everyone and was extremely personable. Michael said that he feels his music is channeled from God; he sings it, but it’s the radio that gets it out. He expressed his appreciation again for the continued support of his work.

Following the premiere of the short film Michael went back to the ‘Art of Music’ store and did another signing. Some fans were able to get in and get t-shirts, and other memorabilia signed. He also made sure to greet the fans that were standing outside of the store.

In regards to this charity single, Michael simply stated, "Let’s make this happen!"

At “Teatrul de Revista Constantin Tanase” theater in Bucharest, Romania, on September 30, 1992, Michael Jackson holds a press conference before performing his Dangerous concert there, and discusses the Heal The World Foundation tenets: “I’m very happy to be here (…) in Romania, and (?) my concert live on HBO, and to help the children. Dear friends, ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Prime Minister. These children are as dear to me as all the children of the world. Today, I’ve had the opportunity to see the face of transformation and civilization. A moment like this means healing the world. We must heal the world and ourselves. We have to weave our life like a web, because we are part of this web. Out of negligence, we have contaminated and polluted our planet and, in exchange, we hurt ourselves. In the life songs of ages is the dance of our blood. The environment is an extension of our body and it gives the pulse of love, is the orchestra of universe’s symphony. It is music’s territory and enables us to rediscover our souls. Let’s rejoice together in love today, unity and conciliation. Let’s heal everybody and, thus, heal ourselves. Let us make a covenant with life and let us celebrate with joy a new world... and healed. Thank you, […] especially, to all the children of the world. I love you all. Thank you so much.. Thank you..” Before stating his impromptu discourse, a group of children perform “Heal The World” to him.

On October 7, 2005 MJ began working on a song to help the victims of hurricane Katrina called "From The Bottom Of My Heart" at "The Power House Studios".

Michael Jackson is writing a song for the hurricane Katrina victims, and has invited other artists to sing with him in this upcoming single.
Pop icon Michael Jackson, 47, has written a song for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. His spokeswoman Raymone Bain said on Tuesday that he hopes to record the song with other top artists and release it as a charity single.

Jackson, who previously raised more than $60 million for African famine relief with a campaign built around his anthem "We Are the World," was moved by the images of destruction that he saw on television, publicist Raymone Bain said.

Jackson said in a written statement, "It pains me to watch the human suffering taking place in the Gulf region of my country. My heart and prayers go out to every individual who has had to endure the pain and suffering caused by this tragedy."

He also added that he will be "reaching out to others within the music industry to join me in helping bring relief and hope to these resilient people who have lost everything."

Bain said Jackson that the song has been tentatively titled, "From the Bottom of My Heart," and he planned to record it within two weeks after enlisting other top performers.

"In the next 24 hours he will be personally reaching out to all of the artists to ask them to join him in this project," Bain said, adding that none of the artists could be named yet.

The "King of Pop" left his Neverland Valley Ranch in California for Bahrain after his acquittal on child molestation charges in June. Bain said he would return to the United States to work on the new single.

On September 18, 1989, a Michael Jackson "claymation" CA rasins commercial debuted on US TV after airing in movie theaters earlier that year. MJ does not sing in the commercial, but says a few words at the end. MJ contributed to the making to the commercial by modeling himself for a figure and helping to create 6 of the backup raisin characters. MJ received 25,000 USD for this project, all of which he donated to charity.

On September 13, 1996 Michael Jackson visited the "Leaganul De Copii Sfanta Ecaterina" during the HIStory tour in Bucharest, Romania. He gave the orphanage 35,000,000 Lei (1 million USD). He also visited a monument dedicated to the 1989 Romanian revolution victims with the children from the orphanage. At the Parliament Palace later that evening, the children put on a folklore performance for him. Later he was invited on stage and said this:

"This performance was one of the most amazing performances I’ve ever seen in my entire life. And I’m not just saying that, I really mean it from my heart. It was the highest in artistic presentation and I only wish all of the world leaders could be here to see this, because I think they would think twice when they so quickly send our brothers to the killing fields. Because this is our future – all the children. And I love you so much. And… [children loudly chanting his name] I just once again wanted to say thank you very very much, and from the bottom of my heart I truly and endearly love each and everyone of you. Thank you so much."

Bela Farkas

August 8, 1994 - Michael Jackson and his then wife Lisa Marie Presley met the four year-old boy during a visit to the Bethesda Children`s Hospital when MJ was in Budapest, Hungary shooting a music video. Doctors at the hospital told MJ that Bela`s mother had abandoned him and that his father rarely visited him. MJ and Lisa Marie were so taken with the boy, who had been in the hospital since his birth, that they returned the following day for several hours to visit with him. Bela was diagnosed with a congenital liver disease that discolored his skin and prevented him from digesting food. Without a transplant, doctors gave him one year to live.

Bela`s transplant was to take place at a Western hospital, as those in Hungary did not have the necessary equipment for the transplant. The estimated cost for the transplant was $120, 000. MJ pledged funds from Heal the World, the charitable foundation he created in 1992 to cover all expenses related to Bela`s transplant.

Michael Jackson remembers that in Private Home Movies TV Special, 2003:

"I saw this little kid (at a hospital in Budapest, Hungary), his name was Farkas. He was very sick. He was green in the face. But he had this glow, this sparkle in his eye.

I asked his nurse, "What’s wrong with this kid?" She said that he needs a liver.
So I said, "Does that mean he’s gonna die?"

She said, "Yes, he’s gonna die unless he gets a liver".

I said, I’m not gonna let him die. This sweet, sweet angel. No matter what it takes, I’m gonna find a liver for him.

So I sent my ("Heal The World") organization around the world. We went all over the place and it took a long time. And I said, I’m not giving up. I’m not going to have the child die. I was so happy when I got a phone call. They told me, "We’ve found a liver!" And he has his life. I’m so proud that I could help him. God bless him. I love you, Farkas."
