Michael Jackson - The Jackson Children Have Reportedly Suffered "Aggressive Questioning" During The Lawsuit Against Michael Jackson's Promoter
March 24, 2013
The 14-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson, Paris Jackson, was questioned on Thursday as part of a wrongful death lawsuit against a concert promoter.
This is part of an ongoing lawsuit on part of the Jackson family and Paris was questioned about her father’s final days. The questioning of the Jackson children in the case, however, has posed a number of problems. The Jacksons' legal reps told the judge in a filing earlier this week that they were concerned the children were being treated too aggressively and that the company in question (AEG) was behaving “aggressively and erratically” toward the Paris, Prince and Blanket.
Earlier this month, 16-year-old Prince Jackson’s deposition was taken. According to the filing, AEG representatives asked questions intended "to agitate the boy, creating serious concern among his guardians and attorneys," the document said. According to an email from an AEG attorney, Prince "testified that he was intimately involved in his father's affairs," which necessitated the questioning. Additionally, the company asked to question the 10-year-old Blanket Jackson, but his physician advised against it, on grounds that it would be “medically detrimental” to the boy's health, CNN reports.
The Jackson childern have reportedly been mistreated during their depositions, which could put AEG at a disadvantage.
The wrongful death suit is likely to garner a lot of unwanted media attention, given the high stakes. The questioning of the children is only preliminary. The actual trial, during which Prince, Paris, Blanket and their grandmother will be suing AEG Live for billions of dollars, is set to begin in Los Angeles next month.
