He is down in the street-it is a standoff now. Not in custody yet but he is surrounded. The bomb squad is there for safety in case he is wearing a bomb vest. He is alive and I hope he stays that way!

reports are as I thought may be true - he was injured last night in the shootout! Won't or can't get up out of the boat! The bomb-bots are going in. The reports say there were 8-10 flash bangs like a pipe bomb heard just a few minutes ago.
Now they say the police threw the bang grenades to get the suspect out of that boat.

The fam on Franklin St in Watertown - the man lifted the tarp and saw susp #2 in that boat. BPD and other auths scrambled - helo with forward looking IR saw movement in the boat-they swept in-captured! Susp #2 taken first to closest hospital then transferred to Mass Gen-the best trauma facility-so they will save his life and he can be interrogated and prosecuted - THANK YOU FAMILY ON FRANKLIN ST!

WATERTOWN, Mass.— Police said they had taken the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings into custody here Friday night, after a day of intense searching that shut down daily life across a large swath of greater Boston.
Shortly after 8 p.m., police surrounded a boat stored behind a home in East Watertown, a short distance away from where Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, had been last seen. Authorities said they believed Tsarnaev was inside the boat, which had been covered in a tarp. He was thought to be wounded but alive: television crews reported that they could hear police calling his name, attempting to induce his surrender.
The other suspect in the bombings, Tsarnaev’s 26-year-old brother, Tamerlan, was killed early Friday morning after a shootout with police in another section of Watertown.
Also Friday, a report from Russian television cited the men’s mother as saying her older son had previously been interviewed by the FBI because of his interest in radical Islamic teachings. The FBI confirmed that agents in Boston had interviewed the elder Tsarnaev in 2011, on behalf of an unspecified foreign government that suspected he had ties to a terrorist organization. But the FBI found nothing warranting further investigation.
The standoff with the younger Tsarnaev began just minutes after a press conference in which authorities had conceded that a daylong search for Tsarnaev had come up empty. They had said they did not know where the fugitive was, but would still lift a “shelter in place” order anyway.
“You can get back out, as long as you are vigilant,” said Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick (D).
As night fell again here, the Tsarnaevs had become a new lesson in the awful magnifying power of terrorism. Two unremarkable brothers, armed with low-tech bombs and no apparent escape plan, had allegedly killed four people, injured more than 170, and then held one of America’s great cities in terror for a full day. And counting.
While law enforcement officers continued to look for Tsarnaev, investigators in Washington and elsewhere began seeking to understand what had turned them to violence.
The Tsarnaev brothers are of Chechen heritage. Both were born in the Caucusus region, a cauldron fought over by Chechen separatists, Russian security forces, Islamic extremists and organized crime. They had emigrated legally, and lived for years in the Boston area, where their father, Anzor, was an auto mechanic.
In the past, both men had embraced American passions, according to friends and neighbors. Tamerlan, 26, was an accomplished boxer, with a wife and child. Dzhokhar was a wrestler at Cambridge’s public high school, who went on to attend the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth.
On Thursday evening, authorities released photos of two men spotted carrying backpacks near the Marathon’s finish line. These were apparently the Tsarnaevs, though authorities did not say that at the time--and, perhaps, did not know it at all.
Their targets, it turned out, had not fled the city or the country. A few hours later, they began a violent spree just across the Charles River in Cambridge

Thanks admin-great link to updates and vids. Thank God in Heaven above that this heathen murderer was caught last night and caught ALIVE! The news still isn't in from the FBI about his status at the hospital. The docs won't be updating the public in this rare case. The FBI only will hold press conferences. I hope he is arraigned this weekend and this process moves quickly. The poor families affected need to get on with their lives and not have this thing drag on and on.

I feel the same way Capricious. I would hate to see this drag on if it does. Swift justice is what is called for here. I did hear that the feds will be charging him and prosecuting. I haven't read anything yet (or seen anything on TV) whether they have had a press conference about his status in the hospital. Anyone else see or read anything about an update on that?

Wonder if the FBI will seize that fams boat on Franklin St in Watertown? Bet they do as evidence. Bummer for that fam huh? The whole scary scene must be just a nightmare for them. Poor people. Brave though, IMO they are who caught the terrorist! They deserve many accolades and gratitude, that 19 yo suspect 2 could have laid in there and died. Then no arrest - just questions forever unanswered.

Suspect #2 now charged with the terror crimes and just a few minutes ago-has been read his rights (maranda). The debate whether to do this now passed and the need to move quickly to get this behind us is now ramping up quickly. The auths want to convict fast.

So suspect #2 shot himself in the neck? who does that? Was it so he didnt have to talk to feds? or was he trying to off himself and be in he!! w/his terrorist brother?

News today that these 2 terrorists planned to bring the rest of the explosives that they had (and lobbed at BPD and FBI etc.. last week) to NYC - target was to be Times Square!
Thank God the man that was car-jacked (in the SUV) escaped from these murdering pigs and called for help which resulted finally in their capture.
The 19 year old suspect #2 is being transferred to a secure jail facility with an infirmary. GOOD!! He needs to be REMOVED from the hospital in Boston where his VICTIMS are still trying to recover. I was sickened by the fact that this monster was being treated for his injuries in the same place people with no feet - or legs - or other body parts that HE blew off of them - when he still has all his body parts!
I hope he enjoys all his body parts while sitting in a supermax facility SOON for the rest of his LONG life! Colorado is WAITING for him!

7/28/13 Update: The very last Boston terror bombing victim was discharged from a Boston hospital today after spending 100 days there.
He had 49 surgeries. FORTY NINE.
The pondering: Whether to ever buy another issue of Rolling Stone magazine (after this month they put the cutsey pix of the living bomber suspect on the cover?) Uh no. NEVER!
God Bless and Keep that last hospitalized survivor and all 170 plus bombing victims for all they went through and for what they will be enduring for the rest of their lives and of course all of those affected by this horrific event.
RIP the three who perished.
