Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treats
Here's a delicious treat recipe I found:
Ingredients
Cooking spray
1 10-oz bag Rice Krispies, divided
6 tbsp salted butter, divided
6 cups fresh miniature marshmallows, divided
Red and yellow liquid food coloring
Directions
1. Lightly coat a 5-by-9-inch loaf dish with cooking spray. Set aside.
2. In large bowl, pour 2 cups cereal. Set aside. In small saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp butter. Add 2 cups marshmallows, stirring constantly, until melted. Pour over cereal and stir to combine. Firmly press into bottom of prepared dish, using hands sprayed with cooking spray to make the layer smooth.
3. Repeat step 2, adding 3 drops each of red and yellow food coloring to the melted butter. Press evenly over the first layer.
4. Repeat step 2 again, adding 6 drops of yellow food coloring to melted butter. Press evenly over orange layer. (Mixture may be higher than edge of dish.)
5. Let set at least 2 hours, but no more than overnight, at room temperature. Run a knife around edge to loosen from dish; turn dish upside down onto cutting board to release. Cut loaf into three long slices, and cut each slice into 6 triangles.
Makes 18 servings. Per serving: 145 calories, 4 g fat (3 g saturated fat), 10 mg cholesterol, 167 mg sodium, 27 g carbohydrate, 0 g fiber, 1 g protein
