A pair of shoes worn by Michael Jackson during which he is said to have moonwalked will go on auction next month, RadarOnline.com can reveal.
The loafers – with the King of Pop’s autograph, dated 1998 – are expected to fetch $50,000 and are one of a number of pieces of memorabilia which will go under the hammer at a London auction house on Dec. 7.
Also up for sale: Jackson’s trademark ‘Smooth Criminal’ fedora signed and a single white crystal glove that he wore during his “Billie Jean” performance on the Dangerous and on the first leg of his History World Tour.
Jackson’s costume designers, Michael Bush and Dennis Tompkins, completely covered the glove in Swarovski crystals, President and CEO of Knaisz Auctions, Balazs Nagy, told RadarOnline.com.
He said the custom-designed glove was estimated to reach $40,000 to $50,000.
“We feel a great respect to Michael Jackson,” Nagy said, “because he is the most important figure in the history of pop-music.
“That’s why we dedicate our auction to the memory of the one and only King of Pop and of course we would like to allow fans to take home a piece of their idol.”
