Hear Michael Jackson’s New Song ‘Slave To The Rhythm’
May 8, 2014
Shannon Carlin
This morning, fans are getting a chance to hear a new Michael Jackson track, this one is called “Slave to the Rhythm.”
Originally recorded with L.A. Reid and Babyface during the Dangerous sessions in 1991, this new version has been pumped up with a little help of MJ’s own unique brand of beatboxing to tell a tale of a housewife who is trapped in a rather mundane day-to-day with a husband who doesn’t seem to care. And like most people, she’d rather be dancing.
Last summer, fans got to hear a version of this song featuring Justin Bieber. Though the Biebz released the song himself, claiming it was a legit version, it was soon taken down by Sony, Michael Jackson’s label.
Yesterday, fans got a chance to hear “A Place With No Name,” the King of Pop’s re-imagining of the 1972 classic, “A Horse With No Name” by America. On Tuesday, “Loving You,” a sweet track about unrequited love, was released and the day before that fans were treated to “Chicago,” a Timbaland-produced track that was originally known as “She Was Lovin’ Me.” Last week, they debuted two versions of the track, “Love Never Felt So Good,” one which features Justin Timberlake.
Tomorrow (May 9) closes out the week with “Do You Know Where Your Children Are,” a track that was originally leaked back in 2012 and was reportedly about child abuse.

Hear Michael Jackson’s New Song ‘XSCAPE’
April 9, 2014
By Shannon Carlin
With a little help from Rodney Jerkins, Michael Jackson is back with a brand new song that has him recalling his Dangerous days.
Jackson “woo-hoos” and grunts his way through the song, which reportedly dates back to the recording sessions for Jackson’s final album, Invincible, released in 2001, letting it be known that its his personal life and he can do what he wants.
Don’t miss the electric keyboard shout out to “Black and White” at the 3:35 mark. If only Jerkins recruited Macaulay Culkin to re-create the fake rap he performed for that track. Guess the former child star is too busy singing about pizza.
The song will be featured on the posthumous album, XSCAPE, out May 13, which features never before released tracks along with new takes on songs from Jackson’s archive by several producers, including Timbaland. The record will also reportedly feature guest spots from D’Angelo, Mary J. Blige and Questlove.
A deluxe edition will include Jackson’s sourced recordings in their original form.
Listen to MJ’s title track, “XSCAPE” via MTV, below.

Hear Michael Jackson's Vexing 'Do You Know Where Your Children Are' Updated 'Xscape' track contains lyrical reference to child sexual abuse

May 9 2014
Michael Jackson's Xscape album keeps exceeding expectations, and the latest track to surface is mostly welcome, too, though it's still an odd choice for inclusion. From the posthumous, "contemporized" release, due out May 13, we've already heard the aughts-y "Xscape," the disco-buoyed throwback "Love Never Felt So Good," and the anguished Timbaland production "Chicago."
Today Sony is streaming "Do You Know Where Your Children Are," and while both the title and the lyric about a stepfather "sexually abusing" a young girl are jarring given the allegations Jackson faced in his lifetime, the synth-burbling production is a smart upgrade from an earlier version that has been floating around online for a few years. Jackson's impassioned vocal performance, too, is another one that definitely deserved to come out in some form or another, but it's still hard to imagine being in the mood for a Michael song and cuing up one about about "scared" kids.
