Moviemaker Spike Lee has reached out to Michael Jackson's daughter Paris on Twitter.com for her thoughts on his new documentary about the teenager's late father.

The director launched Bad 25 at the Venice Film Festival in Italy on Friday, the 25th anniversary of the release of the King of Pop's iconic track, and described his project as "a love letter to Michael".

The filmmaker, who shot two Jackson promos, was allowed access to family home videos and unseen rehearsal footage - and he is keen to know what Paris thought of the documentary about her dad.

In a post on his Twitter page, he writes, "Dear Paris, This is Spike Lee. Please let me know what you and your brothers think of BAD 25. I love your father. Peace, Spike."
