Re: UPDATED: NO LONGER a Rumor: 100 N. Carolwood Dr. has been sold
Rumor update: Supposedly some man has purchased the home for about 20m (list was nearly 24m) however it is still in escrow - so until escrow closes it is still on the MLS as an active listing. Another rumor is that the person has already tried to move in to the house which is very unusual as it is still in escrow-anyone have reputable sourcing on this - if it is news?

Michael Jackson's last home sells for $18.1 million
Michael Jackson's last home sells for $18.1 million

The Holmby Hills mansion features a theater, a wine cellar with a tasting room, an elevator and a gym with a spa.
Pop icon Michael Jackson was leasing the 1.2-acre estate in Holmby Hills for $100,000 a month at the time of his death.
The Holmby Hills mansion where Michael Jackson lived at the time of his death in 2009 has sold for $18.1 million. The property, recently priced at $23.9 million, had been for sale for as much as $38.5 million before the pop icon took up residency.
The buyer is Steven Mayer, a senior managing director for Cerberus Capital Management, according to several media reports. The sellers are Roxanne Guez and her husband, Hubert, chief executive of clothing manufacturer Ed Hardy.
The French chateau, designed by Richard Landry and built in 2002, features a theater, a wine cellar with a tasting room, an elevator and a gym with a spa. There is a guesthouse with stained-glass doors near the swimming pool for a total of seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms and nearly 17,200 square feet of living space.
Jackson was leasing the 1.2-acre estate for $100,000 a month when he died after receiving the anesthetic propofol for insomnia. His doctor, Conrad Murray, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter last year and sentenced to four years in prison.
The 50-year-old was preparing for his "This Is It" concert tour during his time living at the mansion.
Mauricio Umansky of the Agency in Beverly Hills handled both sides of the transaction.

Personal note: No longer a rumor-sad as this is-MJ's last 'abode' has sold.
BTW: for any of you who might be RHOBH fans-Mauricio Umansky is Kyle Richards husband (the BH real estate agent who seems sweet and pretty cool-(he is who did the E news Holmby Hills mansion tour on TV awhile back with Giuliana Rancic which was done respectfully TG) (Kyle R. ugh )

Re: UPDATED: NO LONGER a Rumor: 100 N. Carolwood Dr. has been sold
So this property did sell. I focus more on Hayvenhurst as it was more historically Michael Jackson especially since he did so much of his music there at his studio. But I really care the most about Neverland since he built it and made it his refuge and a wonderland for kids! Long live THE KOP and hopefully one day his fabulous Los Olivos HOME will be where all the MJ fan~mily will be able to celebrate MJ's accomplishments and his genius!!
Love you Michael!!

I stood outside of those gates for the past 3 years on June 25th holding my candle. We all had a feeling last year was going to be it. We met this guy one year who sold maps to the star's homes, his corner was right in front of Michael's home. He said one day, Michael on his way home (Carollwood) drove passed them and stopped. He rolled down the window and said hey you guys must be thirsty. Michael's children were in the car and Michael handed the water to the kids to give to the people selling flyers. He said the kids were so excited "Daddy give us more bottles!! " Another time Michael stopped and rolled down the window and askied if they were hungry, they all said yes. Soon after pizza's arrived for them. I thought those were really nice stories. The guy said he was the nicest man to them.
