Why did Michael tape his fingers?

i know @WATW, the question was: fill in the blanks: jackson was the _b_chilld of the jackson family. u said the answer is c-8th when it was actually b-7th when i said u could be reffering to michael's deceased older (i think) brother i was reffering to brandon. one of michael's brothers had a twin named brandon, brandon died less than 24 hours after birth

Michael began taping his finger (tips) to cover the brown discoloration caused by the prescription medication he needed to take for lupus. It is called prednisone which causes unsightly dark brown brittle nails (as well as other changes in the physical appearance of a person).

This is the actual true reason. It has nothing to do with his vitiligo, nor did it have anything to do with drawing attention to his hands or hand movements. That story was concocted, 'assumed' and perpetuated by fans.

Personal note: I am the same age MJ would be so I have/know a lot of info from life experience alone as well as close proximity at times so everyone please know that this is a game, not a contest as to who "gets" who - it is who gets a trivia question correct. It is useful also to clear up rumors and dispel myths. Keeping it fun and I must say I am impressed by our younger members wealth of knowledge. PROUD of my MJ Fan~mily young and "not as" young lol
