Re: Big Al NVR
I know there was talk of opening Neverland to the public, like Graceland is for Elvis, but that the locals are totally against it. They say it would create too much traffic in their small town of Los Olivos and the surrounding area. It is a shame. It could help to pay for the tremendous amount of money needed for upkeep. I read that it cost millions of dollars a year to maintain it at it's height of glory.
It would be nice if they could get the original rides back. I saw an article where the Ferris Wheel was touring in a carnival in the midwest, and I saw one of the kiddie rides for sale online. What a shame that they are scattered to the four winds.
Paris Jackson has said that when she and her brothers are of legal age, they plan on opening it again. I hope something could be done to make this happen. If they would even open it for tours during the June 25th memorial week, it would give people a chance to glimpse the magic!
Al- did you ever hear what killed Michael's giraffes? I remember that they were found dead at the reserve where they went to live, but I never heard any more about their cause of death. I hope they weren't poisoned.
It is great to hear that you are ready to write your book. You will have our support 100% and we will do whatever we can to make this a reality!

Re: Big Al NVR
I wouldn't use such foul language on this site Admin, I have more respect. Our Brit term for f** "is" cigarette. A tabard is none other than a cleaner's piece of protective clothing otherwise known as a sleevless overall. So here in old England many people usually have this image that all women cleaners wear these sleeveless 'tabards', with their hair in rollers covered with a towel and a f** hanging from their mouth LOL!. Maybe back in the 50's 60's but not as of today, just the 'tabard' is still a necessary part of the domestic uniform and owners of big posh homes would only employ a domestic with a tabard. The f**-ash lil's type still have that old image from the 60's but they clean public Inns, public conveniences and busses, lol. Their work title is just 'Cleaner' whereas working in a huge private house for the affluent we are called 'Private domestics'. My tongue-in-cheek dream of becoming a private domestic for Michael at NL was NOT to be this image of the public Inn/bus cleaner :crkup:But saying that, someone has to do those jobs, and if they didn't employ those cleaners we would be in a big sorry mess. However, knowing Michael's great sense of fun and humour he probably would have been intrigued by this old fashioned English look. He quite liked that tomboy look in a woman lol.
Hi, IJCSLMJ :-) You have a massive house too by the sound of it. You would love the area where I live too, they are nearly all huge detached properties, very wealthy owners. All their cars have private reg plates and some have swimming pools and a tennis court in the back gardens. The gardens are so big they don't know their nextdoor neighbours.
jw, lol! we do indeed. Which neck'o'the woods do you come from? :-)
Here's an image of a cleaner lol

Re: Big Al NVR
Slang (idioms) are fine and usually funny. We, the Staff here at MJLIM, simply needed to clarify the use of the "f" word which was inocuous here as it is British slang BUT it is a VERY derogatory term here in the USA and is considered hate speech against gays. I needed to point out that it was not meant to be an insult to anyone and is simply a cultural difference - we need to be sensitive to all of our members and guests (and to all cultures as well).

Scotland, lovely place with lots of fresh air and countryside right? It was where I once took a break, that was on the West coast called 'Ballantrae'? (sp) Some years ago now but I remember it being real nice with miles of breathtaking open spaces and very pretty coastline. I was staying in a cottage in the middle of nowhere just a few other houses dotted around and the field at the back of where we stayed had ten humongous bulls grazing there. I was intimidated by the size of them lol.. Each time I went out to put some waste in the bin they'd come charging down the field frightened the hell out of me lol. They looked amazing being the colour they were as well like cream coloured? So I don't know what breed they were? I'd not ever seen cream bulls before they're either black or like a ginger colour here.

Hi, IJCSLMJ Yes it'd be interesting to know about those spiders. I think they were tranchula's. Michael was fearless with these creatures wasn't he Can you imagine he'd hold one in front of our face teasing with it and making us squeal with fright. I can handle snakes though, I'm not bad with them it's just those horrible hairy legged spiders I can't be doing with lol. Are you the same?

I'm not at all surprised it made you scream, IJCSLMJ finding it amongst the laundry. I just looked up the 'Wolf Spider' on the internet and came across this terrifying article. This couple live in Scotland! So jw? Look out lol This is horrible
You're right too, Michael would love us ladies having a howl at these creatures, he'd chase us around with it inside a see-though container
Here's the article

Sorry to say I do not have any Spider stories ... but yes ... we did have some Spiders in the Zoo ... including some that were as big as my fist. Thankfully those LARGE Spiders were for the most part, friendly and non-poisonous.
I did not know about the Giraffe's passing away or where they ended up. That is very sad. I got to witness one of them being born.

Re: Big Al NVR
We had several different types of Spiders / Tarantulas ... not sure what all the official names / types were. We did have one that was an awesome blue color. I will attempt to attach a photo I found online that looks like the one we had. Even though it was blue ... is called a Greenbottle Blue.

Re: Big Al NVR
I read a story about this picture of the spider on Michael's face. Supposedly, this kind of spider sheds it's outer covering, and this was what it shed. This is the covering, not the actual spider.

Re: Big Al NVR
That is true-tarantulas (ick) molt and shed their exoskeletons in order to grow larger. I could never imagine having a live spider on me at all let alone my face! I remember seeing that pix years ago - I immediately researched to find out what was what with it.

So, Al, Michael liked girls who looked like a tomboy? I'm surprised, since Lisa Marie was very feminine with pefect makeup, clothes, etc,

Hey beagle :-) I also heard that some years ago now. My husband is a good judge on women's looks and fascinating this might sound he thinks that LMP does have a boyish resemblance with her features being sharp (chiselled) with a ladett figure (flat chested and straight up & down) She also has a deep voice lol, but put that aside she was also ballsy (called a spade a spade and wouldn't accept any ish) ;-) Then we have Debs (Ms Rowe) who is built like a club doorman and rides a Harley yay! being an ex biker myself I had 4 bikes which included a Triumph Bonneville and a Yamaha chopper so I cheer the gal for her bravery riding a Harley :-D So yes, Michael liked the ol ladett tomboy ladies.
