USA medaled GOLD in women's soccer today! Great job ladies of the sport! Team USA is winning last check in total medals won also - super amazing-the athletes of The United States of America ROCK!! YES!!

WOOHOO! Congrats US women's soccer team.

We also got the gold in women's water polo- I've been closely following both the men's and women's water polo teams- we have been great and have played some really great games.

USA Women's Basketball Team just awarded their 5th consecutive GOLD MEDAL this afternoon! Congrats to the TEAM USA Women's Basketball Team for an amazing history of excellence in the game at the Olympics!!

Anybody see the women's VB final? The US lost in 4 sets I believe to Brazil- 2nd time in a row . Happy for their 2nd consecutive silver though- they had a really great run- hopefully they will have better luck in Rio 2016 (uh oh- Brazilian turf ) I think 3rd time should be a charm though.

You're really into volleyball too huh? That was IMO a very disappointing match to say the least- it's really sad we lost 2 times in a row to the same country and I read somewhere it was basically the exact same score! We'll get 'em next time though- and we did totally rock that beach VB- Misty and Kerri- the greatest beach volleyball team ever!

I posted a lot of updates today in the info thread if anyone wants to check it out- I'm really quite sad the Olympics are drawing to a close.

hopefully watching the closing ceremonies tonight- wow these last 17 days have flown by!

I a part of the closing ceremonies on youtube since I can't get that on my TV, it started out looking like it was going to be a cool thing, but the whole thing was just boring credits, not sure if whether that was the actual ceremony or not!

Personally I thought the closing ceremony was better than the opening ceremony-the musical talent and the 'ode to the British' musicians was fantastic-especially Bowie! I have been a lifelong Bowie fan having first seen his "Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" show in 1972! Needless to say I saw dozens of his performances all over-

I met him in person along the years and spent time one on one in conversation with him in SF when he performed at the Warfield Theater - I was invited to visit him at the PanAmerican Hotel downtown where he and his entourage etc.. were staying and had the TIME of my life! He is one of the most innovative and wonderful human beings I ever had the good fortune to spend time with-I adore him!!
