About "Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days"
Michael Jackson's former bodyguards reveal the amazing truths of the superstar's final 2 years--his life in hiding with his children, the financial crises that forced him into the ill-fated This Is It tour, and the events that led to his shocking death.
On the brink of financial ruin and driven from his beloved sanctuary at Neverland , Michael Jackson spent his final years living like a nomad, moving his 3 children from the Middle East to Ireland to Las Vegas to Virginia and finally back to Los Angeles, living in near-total seclusion in a futile attempt to escape a world that wouldn't leave him alone.
Starting with Jackson's secret return to the U.S. in 2006, Bill Whitfield and Javon Beard--a veteran security professional and a brash, untested rookie, both single fathers themselves--served as the singer's personal security team. Stationed at his side nearly 24/7, they were the gatekeepers between Michael and the outside world, making them the only 2 men who know what 60 million fans around the world are still desperate to find out: What really happened to the King of Pop?
How Michael and his children stayed under the radar from day to day; the efforts required to give the 3 kids some semblance of a normal life; the simple joys they found to fill their days; the true extent of Michael's financial crises (Whitfield and Beard were often not paid for months); the open warfare with the Jackson family; and the star's increasing paranoia--the truth is far more compelling than anything previously reported.
An indispensable piece of pop-culture history, Remember the Time is the heartfelt story of a tragic and troubled family, the devastating cost of fame, and the lengths to which a father will go to protect and provide for his children. Remember the Time dismantles the tabloid myths once and for all and gives Michael Jackson back his humanity.

Hmm I was hoping this book would give us something that we didn't already know. I'm just going from what I've read here. It seems to say things we already know or have heard in the past couple of years. Has anyone read Frank's book 'My friend Michael'? This is the sort of story I love to read as 98% of it is really humorous and lighthearted stuff. I don't know What do you guys think about this bodyguards book? It's just the first impressions here I'm not sure. It might be different though.

These guys were back stabbed by that so called author that interviewed them then ripped off all the info and published a book behind their backs. They weren't even going to go ahead but now a couple years later - it looks like they decided to.
The book I am referring to is: "Defending a King ~ His Life & Legacy" by Karen Moriarty
This person never knew MJ-just copy/paste/stole info to make $$ - like so many others!

I remember that Moriarty - wasn't she spamming all the MJ websites with her self reviews etc.. I would much rather read about what the actual bodyguards have to say I think. There could be revelations huh?

I think I'm going to stick by my patience and wait for it to get into our shops so I can scroll through it and decide if it'll be worth buying. I don't like buying what I can't see first, but that's just me. Thanks Admin anyway for the order details

Re: Michael Jackson Bodyguards finally published their book!
Hmmm I'm wondering about the bodyguard book too. It seems to me that Frank Cascio's book certainly gave an good inside of what Michael was going through. Yes they had great fun but Frank was the best friend that MJ had even though MJ fired him and then took him back. Frank knew about the anesthetists on the BAD Tour or any tour and the drugs as he was always trying to get Michael off - times when MJ would have to ask Frank when he wanted a painkiller. On Amazon sometimes you can read a few pages of the book in question just the pages are not in order they will skip a few pages and then let you read a few more. You at least get an idea of what's going on. I'm rambling I know...sorry. I'll check it out too.

Re: Michael Jackson Bodyguards finally published their book!
I believe that it was or it was Jermaine's book. I'm sure it was Frank's because Michael would say goodnight to Frank when they were on tour and 2 men would go into Michael's main bedroom instead of staying up and fooling around with MJ. Michael just couldn't handle touring because he couldn't sleep. Think about it - he's just given a 2hr show, where Jermaine has said that MJ could lose up to 10 lbs of water - why he was always getting dehydrated. So after the show he has to go to sleep because he will have to be up and travel the next day to another location and perform again and I bet there was always a small rehearsal and sound check. Even in 1988 for the BAD tour he was in great shape but I'm sure the lupus had started and of course there was the vitiligo - all painful stuff. As bad as it was the propofol was the only thing that MJ thought let him sleep but he did have anesthetists with him. I don't understand how he felt so rested after coming to because whenever I've had a major operation and had propofol it's hard to wake up and I just wanted to fall asleep again. I know it's not good to be on drugs and propofol but if it helps you have a quality of life then fine but have the right people around to administer the drugs and look after you. I'll take the question to my grave...why didn't you have anesthetists with you starting to rehearse for This Is It you knew you needed them.

Re: Michael Jackson Bodyguards finally published their book!
Aww he might have used something different then Propofol at that time but I'm not sure. As long as he was able to sleep and get up feeling refreshed and ready to perform. I did hear him say that he was very difficult to wake up LOL aren't we all

Re: Michael Jackson Bodyguards finally published their book!
It was propofol and he referred to it as it was time for his milk because it was white. Yes I find it hard to wake up and I think it is because I find it hard to fall asleep because I'm afraid I'm going to miss something.

No sweetheart not warm milk he just called it milk because it was white. Like putting his wine in an empty coke can so people wouldn't know that he drank alcohol.

Re: Michael Jackson Bodyguards finally published their book!
Talk about books - I just started to re-read a book that I had purchased from amazon when I first joined MJ's L.O.V.E. is Magical not that that had anything to do with making me order the books. It just got me interested in MJ again. So the book is Untouchable The Strange Life and Tragic Death of Michael Jackson by Randall Sullivan. As I said I've read it once but I have to read books a few times to pick up info and finally retain it and sometimes just because I enjoy the story. I'm mentioning this book because it frustrates me when they come across as such a know it all about Michael. Right there on page 9 of the book when he is starting to tell the story he refers to Michael's first son Prince as "Michael Joseph Jackson Jr." That now makes me wonder how much other crap is in the book. Has anyone out there read this book or know anything about it? I intend to continue reading it but it just gets the blood pressure going when as early as page 9 he is wrong and he isn't really talking about Michael, he is referring and telling about Grace and how she had tons of MJ pictures, postcards, t-shirts and gloves when she was young and in her 1985 Holy Name yearbook, each graduating senior was permitted a "prophecy". Hers read:"Grace Rwaramba is married to Michael Jackson and has her own generation of the Jackson 5." Background on Grace, she fled Uganda decimated by Idi Amin right around the time she reached puberty and spent her teens living and studying with the Catholic nuns at Connecticut's Holy Name Academy. She apparently earned a degree in business administration at Atlantic Union College where she met the family of Deepak Chopra , who personally introduced her to Michael and arranged for her to obtain a position on Jackson's staff during the Dangerous tour. As personnel director, she had been tasked mainly with organizing insurance arrangements, but Grace moved steadily up the ranks at Neverland, becoming Michael's most trusted employee. When Prince was born Michael appointed her the infant's nanny and obviously when the other 2 children were born...growing so close to them that all 3 children called her Mom. Now this info is from the book and I can't believe anything about the children calling her Mom as according to a deposition by Paris the kids did not really like Grace all that much because she was always trying to seduce their father...again according to Paris.
As I said I will re-read this book but now that I've become more informed about MJ through other books and my fan~mily I will keep that grain of salt handy!
Interested in hearing anything from anyone of you.
