Representatives for the singer have been spruiking the JJ5TV.com online reality series to prospective advertisers.
A digital presentation outlined Jackson's "mission" to find five performers who can sing, dance and play instruments and turn them into a "modern day version of the Jackson 5".
His local partners Go Connect and the Jackson brother (who is well known to Australian fans) claim there is a "huge gap" in the music market here for such an act, who will be called JJ5.
"You just don't see the kind of band or that kind of mania that the Jacksons created any more," Jackson said in the proposal doing the rounds of the music industry yesterday.
The interactive show would allow fans to vote for their favourites, who would form three groups before the final five performers for Jackson's pre-fab pop act were selected.
And the producers appear to be as confident as The Voice coaches in promising a future career for those unearthed by the online search.
"As a lead member in one of the most iconic and successful bands of all time, Jermaine knows exactly what ingredients are needed to create a worldwide sensation and he is determined to use every bit of his experience, resources, and input from the viewers to make that happen, starting with this show," the proposal stated.
The website is expected to start accepting auditions in July, with Jackson believed to be heading here in June to launch the show.
