Michael Jackson's Kids Meet With Court Appointed Guardian
By SHEILA MARIKAR (@SheilaYM) and ANTHONY CASTELLANO

July 24, 2012
A court appointed child advocate met with Michael Jackson's children Monday night, sources told ABC News, and is working with them to that they can rejoin Katherine Jackson, Michael Jackson's mother and their legal guardian.

Court papers will likely be filed this week to demand that Katherine Jackson be allowed contact with the children. Sources told ABC News that the filing would likely include a request for a temporary guardian for the children, who is expected to be someone already around the children.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to a "family disturbance" at the Jackson family home Monday after, sources said, Randy, Jermaine and Janet Jackson showed up and apparently tried to take Michael Jackson's kids away.

Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said Monday there was a "scuffle" between two family members at the Calabasas home of family matriarch Katherine Jackson, but no arrests were made.

TMZ posted a photo of siblings Janet and Jermaine Jackson standing outside the home around the time police were called, according to the website.

Katherine Jackson's lawyer, Sandra L. Ribera, issued a statement saying, "Jackson family members ambushed Katherine Jackson's home after their vehicle tore through security gates on the tails of the SUV containing Michael Jackson's children."

Ribera said Prince, Paris and Blanket Jackson were taken to safe location. "An altercation ensued shortly thereafter and law enforcement arrived at the scene," according to the statement.

Latest Trouble for Jackson Family
This has been the latest drama that has plagued the Jackson family in the past few weeks. Katherine Jackson was reported missing Saturday only to be found "resting" with her daughter in Arizona.

X17Online obtained a photo of Jackson smiling and playing Uno with her family in Arizona. Her children released a statement Monday saying the missing person's report was "created by the very person and persons we are trying to protect our mother from."

Trent Jackson, Katherine Jackson's nephew and confidant, reported her missing. TJ Jackson, Tito Jackson's son, wrote a message to Paris Jackson on Twitter saying the ordeal was unfair: "I know it's completely unfair for them to do this you and your brothers. We will keep trying. I love you."

Paris Jackson tweeted Monday , "8 days and counting. Something is really off, this isn't like her at all. I wanna talk directly to my grandmother."

Katherine Jackson is the legal guardian of her late son's three children and there is no word on who is watching them in Jackson's absence.

Jermaine Jackson released a statement earlier this week about his mother's whereabouts, saying this is all "a conspiracy to deflect attention away from a letter we wrote asking for the resignation of executors" of Michael Jackson's will.

Five of Michael Jackson's siblings last week said his will was fake and the executors of his lucrative estate, John McClain and John Blanca, should step down. Jackson's entire fortune was left to his mother and three kids.

"They [executors of the will] will not stand down because the siblings who were left out of Michael's will want them to," said Zia Modabber, who is the attorney of the Jackson estate.
Howard Mann, Katherine Jackson's business partner, believed money is pulling the family apart.

"I believe that Katherine and the children who are benefactors of the estate fall on one side, and then Randy, Jermaine and Rebbie and Tito fall on the other side," Mann said. "They're a group of people who have a great deal of questions about the administration of the estate."

Modabber said, "I can't speak for them. I don't know what's motivating Jermaine and Randy and some of these others, but money is not a bad guess."

Modabber and Mann faced off in court Monday in a dispute over Mann and Katherine Jackson's selling Michael Jackson merchandise.

"It doesn't matter that it's Howard Mann and he may give some of the money to his family, to Katherine Jackson or anybody else," Modabber said. "You can't take property that belongs to the estate, make money from it, without getting permission from the estate."
Mann's attorney argues the material is and always was owned by Katherine Jackson and her husband, Joe, and not the late King of Pop.

Michael Jackson's estate is now worth about $1 billion and counting.

Police Called To House Of Michael Jackson's Mother After Fight
by Nadeska Alexis in Music News
July 24, 2012

All is not well at the Jackson residence. Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, was confirmed to be safe with family this weekend following previous reports that she was missing, but on Monday night (July 23) the police were called to her California home after an apparent fight.

According to the LA Times, sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said police were called to Katherine Jackson’s home after a physical altercation had taken place between several Jackson family members. The sheriff declined to mention who was involved in the scuffle, but also confirmed that no arrests were made.

“Lost Hills deputies responded to a family disturbance at the home of Katherine Jackson in the city of Calabasas,” Whitmore said. “Deputies determined that a physical altercation had occurred, a battery. It involved members of the Jackson family.” Photos via TheYBF seem to show Janet and Jermaine Jackson having a tense conversation outside of the house.

Whitmore added that Michael Jackson’s mother denied allegations that over the past few months she has been "emotionally and financially mistreated by family members” and that officers “determined she was in good health."

There was mild alarm this weekend when MJ's daughter Paris Jackson tweeted messages claiming that her grandmother was missing. "yes, my grandmother is missing. i haven't spoken with her in a week i want her home now," Paris tweeted. Jermaine Jackson later cleared up the situation, revealing that Katherine was staying with her daughter Rebbie in Arizona, while doctors ordered her to disconnect and de-stress.

I really like Alan Duke's reporting - he was excellent during the CM trial and always refers to the LA Times for his sourcing-this I feel is very credible!

The Jackson strife: Family bickers over whereabouts of Michael's mom
By Alan Duke, CNN Tue July 24, 2012

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
NEW: A "scuffle" broke out at the Jackson family home Monday, sheriff spokesman says
NEW: Janet, Jermaine and Randy Jackson were on the scene, a source says
NEW: Paris tweets: "gotta love fam"
NEW: "8 days and counting . something is really off," Paris says on Twitter

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Feuding among Michael Jackson's family reached a new level Monday when a "scuffle" erupted at Katherine Jackson's home in Calabasas, California, according a sheriff's spokesman.

Paris Jackson, the 14-year-old daughter of the late pop icon, posted a Twitter message about the time the incident was happening: "gotta love fam."

She also tweeted about her distress about not hearing from her grandmother for more than a week: "8 days and counting . something is really off , this isn't like her at all .. i wanna talk directly to my grandmother!!<|3"

Deputies were called to the mansion where Katherine Jackson has been raising Prince, 15, Paris and Blanket, 10, since their father died three years ago, Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

A battery report was taken, but no arrests were made, Whitmore said. He would not identify who was involved because "the investigation is ongoing."

Janet, Jermaine and Randy Jackson were on the scene, a source with firsthand knowledge of the incident said. The source asked not to be named because of the sensitivity of the matter.
The drama happened as Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives closed a missing persons case opened for Katherine Jackson, who was found to be with daughter Rebbie in Arizona.
"Katherine Jackson has been located and she is fine and with family," Whitmore said. "Our missing persons case is closed." Deputies talked to two family members and were satisfied, he said.

A lawyer for Katherine Jackson is not satisfied, saying the sheriff's deputies who tried to talk to her in Arizona Monday were blocked from seeing her.

Because the 82-year-old matriarch of the Jackson music dynasty was taken across state lines, Katherine Jackson attorney Sandra Ribera said earlier, she hopes the FBI will investigate the circumstances of what she called her disappearance.

Jermaine Jackson, in a statement posted on Twitter Sunday night, said his mother "is safe and well in Arizona with her daughter and our sister, Rebbie, resting up on doctor's advice."
But Michael Jackson's three children still have not heard from their grandmother eight days after she left them at home, Ribera said.

Jermaine Jackson's statement insisted the children were not "being 'blocked' from speaking with Mother."

"She is merely an 82-year-old woman following doctor's orders to rest up and de-stress, away from phones and computers," he tweeted.

His statement did not explain why Paris was rebuffed during several attempts to reach her grandmother on the phone. That led to Paris posting messages on Twitter early Sunday pleading for help in finding her.

"Yes, my grandmother is missing," Paris tweeted. "I haven't spoken with her in a week i want her home now."

It is the latest chapter in a messy dispute between several of Jackson's children and her advisers.

Whitmore confirmed that the sheriff's department is investigating allegations that Jackson was being "emotionally and financially mistreated by family members."

Katherine Jackson has custody of Michael Jackson's children and a 20% share in her son's huge estate. Her husband, Joe Jackson, and her eight surviving children were completely left out of Michael Jackson's will.

The abuse probe began when "a business associate of the Jackson family" reported the allegation to a sheriff's official in April, Whitmore said.

"Investigators contacted Katherine Jackson and she emphatically denied any and all of them," Whitmore said. When investigators met with Jackson she was "in good health and voiced no complaints," he said.

"Out an abundance of caution, we have continued to interview legal representatives of the family about the possibility of financial abuses," he said. "That investigation remains open."

Katherine Jackson's lawyer and business manager decline to immediately comment.

@midangerous: I would imagine Janet doesn't want Paris tweeting all this drama all over the web-she should not have done it in the first place-but without knowing what was going on, she was probably afraid and not thinking -we have no way of knowing but IMO Janet only has her niece's best interest at heart you know? Frankly I have a hard time believing that Katherine J would leave Calabasas without telling her grandchildren where she would be especially since it was with their Aunt Rebbie's. I bet there is much more going on here. My question is where was the adult supervision at Calabasas while grandma was away??

Michael Jackson's Kids Meet With Court Appointed Guardian w/videos Empty Jackson judge orders probe into children's welfare 7/27/12

Post by Admin Fri Jul 27, 2012 3:34 pm

Jackson judge orders probe into children's welfare Friday - 7/27/2012
By ANTHONY McCARTNEY

AP Entertainment Writer
LOS ANGELES (AP) - A judge on Friday ordered an investigation into the well-being of Michael Jackson's children and a lawyer for the family matriarch said she will move to share guardianship with another adult relative.

Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff told a court investigator to interview the three children independently and provide a report for review only by the judge, not attorneys involved in the case.

The order does not spell out a reason for the investigation, but it is likely intended to give the judge another perspective on how Jackson's children are coping after a week of family turmoil that has included the absence of their grandmother and a dispute in the driveway of their home amid a feud over the estate of the pop superstar.

The court investigator was ordered to interview the children at school at a time to remain undisclosed. Beckloff said during a hearing earlier this week that there were no indications that Katherine Jackson had done anything wrong.

Under the proposed guardianship change, the 82-year-old Jackson would share oversight of the children with Tito Jackson's son in a deal that would relieve her of some of the day-to-day stresses of managing a famous family, her attorney Perry Sanders Jr. said Friday.
The decision was made after a meeting between Katherine Jackson and Sanders on Thursday. He said Michael Jackson's eldest son has told attorneys he approves of the arrangement.

The proposed arrangement could be presented to a judge next week. If approved, it would make Tito Joe "TJ" Jackson a co-guardian of the children _ Prince, Paris and Blanket _ who range in ages from 10 to 15.

Under the plan, responsibility for managing staff and security at the home would shift to TJ Jackson. Katherine Jackson would keep control of a family allowance worth tens of thousands of dollars a month, Sanders said.

"Mrs. Jackson is extremely pleased with the prospect of enjoying the pleasure of raising Michael's children without the day-to-day tedium of items such as managing the large staff that goes with such a high-profile family and focus her attention on being a grandmother and raising Michael's children," Sanders wrote in a statement.

"She is eager to simply enjoy her great relationship with these children, while deeding over some of the stressors that go hand in hand with being a guardian," he wrote.

A judge on Wednesday suspended Katherine Jackson's guardianship duties temporarily and appointed TJ Jackson as temporary guardian. He was expected to file a petition on Friday to become the children's permanent guardian, but Sanders said that is a formality meant to abide by court orders.

Beckloff said he would likely re-instate Katherine Jackson as guardian upon her return.
Katherine Jackson had been at a Tucson, Ariz., spa since July 15 with her daughter Rebbie and other relatives and had not spoken to her grandchildren during that time.

Jackson Estate Attorney Writes Letter Naming Family Members Banned From Home, Katherine Jackson In Tears - Jul 29, 2012

Janet, Randy, Rebbie and Jermaine Jackson have been barred from entering Katherine's Calabasas home, according to a letter allegedly written by Michael Jackson Estate lawyer, Howard Weitzman.

Weitzman, who represents co-executors John Branca and John McClain, reportedly sent the letter to Charles Schultz, TJ Jackson's attorney.

The letter states:
“Given the circumstances of the last two weeks, and in order to protect the children and Mrs. Jackson, the Executors believe that it would not be appropriate to allow the following individuals to enter the residence or its grounds and we instruct the security to preclude the following from entering the residence or the grounds: Randy Jackson and any of his children, Janet Jackson, Rebbie Jackson and any of her children, Jermaine Jackson, his wife and any of his children, Janice Smith, or anyone else who was involved in the recent events that led to Mrs. Jackson’s separation from and inability to communicate with Michael’s children, or any agents or representatives of any of these individuals.
There will be no other security or drivers allowed on the property except those employed by the Estate of Michael Jackson. Joe Jackson is precluded from entering the property. Howard Mann who is in litigation against the Estate and is working with the Jackson siblings that wrote the “letter” should also not be allowed on the premises."

As for the "letter" being referenced ... it's the one sent to Branca and McClain by Janet, Jermaine, Randy, Rebbie and Tito Jackson ... asking that both men resign as executors of their brother's estate. In the letter, it claims the 2002 will is fraudulent.

Weitzman's alleged letter goes on to say:
“Of course, Paris, Prince and Blanket, T.J. and his brothers, Tito, Marlon, Jackie and their spouses, current security (hired by the Estate), staff (per T.J.), Meg Lodise, Michael Kane, Sandra Ribera, Parry Sanders, Trent Jackson, you (Charles Shultz) and anyone else authorized by T.J. (other than the Excluded Individuals listed above), may enter and remain on the premises.
It is imperative to the Estate that from this point forward a safe and appropriate environment be provided for Michael Jackson’s children and his mother as well."

A Jackson family source tells X17online exclusively:
"What kind of lawyer would deny a mother from seeing her own children. Katherine cried the first two days she came home. She told her assistant, 'They're taking everything from me.' They're denying her from hearing the truth. They're denying her family access to see her and trying to get her in court as fast as possible."

On Friday, a judge appointed TJ Jackson, Katherine's 34-year-old nephew, as guardian of Michael's three children.

Katherine's attorney, Perry Sanders Jr., clarified to X17online, that Katherine will still remain in control of the estate's finances, as well as the day-to-day activities of Paris, Prince and Blanket.

We've reached out to Howard Weitzman for comment, but he has yet to respond.

I will post the "scrib'd" links to documents mentioned here soon

Please note: This source (X17) is using several news sources which are credible-the opinion sections of this piece should be as always taken with a grain of salt and using common sense as to the voracity of the statements.
